2 Pack Frenchies’ Maine Woods Bug Dope: DEET-free Natural Insect Repellent

My son bought this repellent and I loved it so much I had to get my own. Don't know which I love better the woodsy smell of the fact that it actually works.

I've used this for years- the only thing that actually keeps mosquitoes from eating me up!

Football practice begins next week. Late afternoon and evening games under the lights draw mosquitoes and assorted nuisance insects. I'm so pleased with this product from use in and around The Lakes Region that I'm giving our grandson a bottle to keep with his gear, and you can bet Grandpa and I will have used ample spray before sitting out to root for his team! Thanks for an effective, environmentally friendly product.

In general I am very pleased. Works effectively with black flies and mosquitoes. However, does not repel ticks as I had hoped it would. This included spraying around feet, on clothing etc. as well as on skin. (Review written in NH, late May.)

Natural repellents are extremely effective in repelling mosquitoes and black flies by masking your carbon dioxide signature/respiration. However ticks can, in addition, sense heat and motion. Nothing you spray on yourself will entirely keep them from sensing, finding and getting on you - even poisons. However four primary essential oils in Frenchies' Maine Woods Bug Dope - cedar, lemon grass, geranium and rosemary have all been shown to reduce the incidence of ticks locating you and actually BITING. So while the ticks may find you as you move (incidence will be reduced with Frenchies' Bug Dope), they will not be as likely to actually bite if you spray Frenchies' on your skin. That said, you must find and remove ticks that do crawl on you, so they do not migrate to an area, under clothing for example, where you have not sprayed. As such Frenchies' recommends, as does every state and federal authority with any tick repellent you use, to wear light colored clothing, long pants, and if possible long sleeves, and to watch for and immediately remove ticks that get on you. Top ratings! My daughter, who is a biting bug magnet, is freshly returned from a week long service trip on the batey's in the Domincan Republic. She has returned without a single bite! No kidding, this is a BIG deal for us! Accomplished with no harsh chemicals on her skin! My daughter claims the aroma was very appealing as well. It worked so well, she left the remainder of her bottle and the second bottle as a donation for the next crew that will arrive for work. I plan to purchase another couple of bottles for my family this summer. Bug dope is dope!

My husband has been walking every morning on our road which is very buggy and he ran out of his deep woods off and I said I think I have something - I remembered that I had some Frenchies bug dope! - so I gave it to him and he came back and said he will never use regular bug spray/deet again and he will only use Frenchies!! HE LOVED IT!! It smells SO much better, doesn't sting his skin and IT WORKS BETTER than deet at keeping the bugs away!!!

Last year I went to Alaska and on a walk we were swarmed with giant mosquitoes. We sprayed on the bug dope and weren't bothered from then on. It was amazing. Yesterday the black flies were out ... but not on me, thanks again to the bug dope. Thanks for a great product!

I just went on a 10 day trip to the Dominican Republic, and used the bug dope every day, multiple times I day. I didn't get a single mosquito bite the entire trip!!! It was amazing! The bug dope's smell was incredible, felt good on the skin, and didn't get sticky like other bug sprays. I plan on buying more bottles, and I got everyone else on the trip hooked on it as well.
