Ten years ago, in 2012, a company was born. It began with just a single product, an all-natural insect repellent—Frenchies’ Maine Woods Bug Dope. Since then, it has created dozens more unique personal care and home products made with essential oils and other natural ingredients – all with a North Woods theme and signature scents like balsam, pine, and cedar. We’ve sold tens of thousands of items since our inception—the vast majority made with our own hands.

We’re still small—tiny, in fact. Contrary to prevailing business paradigms, we believe smaller is better. Smaller means the ability to maintain a high degree of quality in everything that we make and do while limiting our environmental impact. And we believe that slower is better when it comes to growth—we haven’t been running a 100-yard dash, we’ve been pacing a metaphorical marathon.
